5 EID Fashion Trends For This Festive Season

For the first time in a long while, we’re finally able to celebrate festivals with family and friends.

Gathering together.

Visiting relatives.

Having a meal together.

Meeting new friends.

There’s an infectious celebratory joy in the air. And in the middle of all the festivities, the biggest question remains, “What are you going to wear?”

From fabrics that stay cool in the sweltering heat to colours and embroidery that are really popping this season, here’s our hot take on cool trends. With Ramzan in full swing and Eid al-Fitr around the corner, here are five trends—inspired by Zurii, our Eid collection—that will see you through this festive season

More Structure, Please

This Eid al-Fitr, structured cuts and silhouettes are the norm. While summer demands that we wear loose flowy ensembles, let your salwars and dupattas flow while your tunics remain in the short, Kurti style instead. The juxtaposition of loose, flowing pants and dupattas with structured knee-length tunics is a fashion step forward this season. Wear your sleeves tight or go sleeveless this summer to make even more of a statement.

Let ‘Em Hang Loose

When it comes to salwar suits, there are so many pant options from which you can choose. Salwars, patialas, cigarette pants… but this season, pair whatever you wear with flowing sharara pants. Baggy pants are in! And the clear winner this season are tiered sharara pants that drape effortlessly and look exquisite. While tiered sharara pants don’t lengthen the silhouette, they add oodles of stylish grace to the outfit and provide a continuation of the embroidery work on the tunic.

Shine On Fabrics

There’s a definite sparkle to Eid fashion this year. Instead of the traditional sequins-encrusted shine, this year is also about shimmering fabrics. With the graceful lightness of chiffon and the sheen of silk, chinnon is the most sought-after fabric this year. Ultra-smooth and comfortable, chinnon is available in various colours and wears zari, sequins, and stonework well.

The Muted Brigade

Forget loud, in-your-face colours, this season is all about soft, feminine, dynamic colours that reflect summer. There’s an undertone of mellowness that underpins all the colours this season, whether dark or light. A chilled-out vibe that’s what this festive season is all about. From pretty pastels to soft metallics, the colours in vogue this Eid are delicious and have a light, breezy feel. Though most fashionistas are embracing single colours this season, ombre and dual tones are also invited to the party.

Glitter All The Way

In addition to soft, feminine colours and shimmering fabrics, sparkling embroidery and intricate work are in vogue. Ring in the festivities this Eid with sequins-rich or zari-embroidered outfits that amp up the glam quotient. While gold and silver embroidery are still firm favourites this season, you can experiment with coloured or sequins embroidery that enriches the ensemble. Sequins in floral or geometric patterns are winning everything this season.
