Superbride

We were looking for a way to celebrate the modern Indian bride. While our bridal collections were flying off the shelves, we wanted to create a platform that acknowledged the awe-inspiring transformation that the modern Indian bride has undergone. From being shy and barely visible to the confident, outspoken woman that she is today, we’ve had a front-row seat to how women in India are claiming their space. We want to celebrate the modern Indian woman and cheer her on. Thus, was born The Koskii Super Bride contest.

The contest is meant to be a celebration of the individuality of the modern bride and provides brides-to-be with a platform for self-expression. According to our CEO and the brain behind the contest, Umar Akhter, “Every woman is beautiful as she is. The Koskii SuperBride contest was conceptualized to celebrate the individuality of the bride-to-be by creating a platform for her to go beyond superficial external layers of beauty such as height, weight, skin color, fashionable, etc. and express her inner self.”

Contest Format: While the precise format changes with every edition, for the most part, the contest requires brides-to-be to register themselves. They then choose an avatar that best represents them from a range that includes, Sporty, Power, Explorer, Artsy and Activist brides. What ensues next is a pitched battle one bride against another as they defend their avatars. These sub-contests use a point-based system that results in eliminations until only the contest finalists remain. In a Grand Finale with judges and the works, the finalists battle it out for the winning crown.
